On July 4th, 1925, over 100 members of the Church of the Brethren went to a quiet spot on Waubee Lake. In this former cornfield stood a small cabin and an empty foundation. On that day, they dedicated that space to be Camp Alexander Mack.

Century of Sanctuary Kick Off: November 27, 2024

On November 27, 1924 a committee consisting of Manly Deeter, Moyne Landis, R.C. Wenger, L.W. Shultz, and John Eberly made the decision to incorporate as “Camp Alexander Mack” in honor of the founder of the Church of the Brethren, Alexander Mack. To mark this occasion, Camp Mack will kick off its 100th with a video of current Camp Mack staff and board members visiting over 70 churches on a “Thank You Tour” thanking them for support a century of sanctuary at Camp Mack.

Caribbean Cruise: January 20-25, 2025

Over 25 years ago we were busily preparing for a year of events celebrating Camp Mack’s 75th Anniversary and now here we are, approaching 100 years of ministry. How wonderful!

Paris and I are honored to host the kick-off celebration event – a 5 night Caribbean cruise. We concluded our 75th anniversary celebrations with a cruise and it seems fitting to begin this “Century Celebration” with a time for relaxation and reflection.

We invite you to join us on this getaway. We will be arriving in Miami on Sunday, January 19, 2025 with an overnight in a hotel near the port. We will then shuttle to the port on Monday January 20, 2025 to embark on Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas for 5 nights and six days with ports in Cozumel, Mexico and Coco Cay, a private island in the Bahamas.

We look forward to renewing old friendships and making new as we celebrate a century of sanctuary at Camp Mack.

Joyfully,
Becky Ball-Miller
Camp Mack Executive Director, 1994-2001
