On July 4th, 1925, over 100 members of the Church of the Brethren went to a quiet spot on Waubee Lake. In this former cornfield stood a small cabin and an empty foundation. On that day, they dedicated that space to be Camp Alexander Mack.

Century of Sanctuary Kick Off: November 27, 2024

On November 27, 1924 a committee consisting of Manly Deeter, Moyne Landis, R.C. Wenger, L.W. Shultz, and John Eberly made the decision to incorporate as “Camp Alexander Mack” in honor of the founder of the Church of the Brethren, Alexander Mack. To mark this occasion, Camp Mack will kick off its 100th with a video of current Camp Mack staff and board members visiting over 70 churches on a “Thank You Tour” thanking them for support a century of sanctuary at Camp Mack.

Summer Staff Reunion: December 21, 2024

Being on summer staff is a crucial part of the ministry of Camp Mack. Former summer staff are invited to come and remember with your former co-workers about all the fun you had during your summer or summers here. The reunion will be led by Mike Kauffman and Lacie Garringer. More details coming soon!

Couple’s Retreat and Dinner: February 2025

Over the years, countless couples have met, gotten engaged, or gotten married at Camp Mack. If you are a Camp Mack Couple, you’re invited to join in a time of celebration, relaxation, and growth. Dates, prices, and more details coming soon!

Volunteer Celebration: March 1, 2025

Come and celebrate Camp Mack’s volunteers with a delicious meal and entertainment. Volunteers have helped build Camp Mack from the construction of Deeter Cabin in 1925 to the renovations of Ulrich Lodge in 2022 and 2023. Countless people have served as counselors, directors, team leaders, and CIT’s, and more have served behind the scenes in the kitchen and the office. Details coming December 2024.

Adventure Day: April 26, 2025

Camp Mack’s wilderness area has over 100 acres that houses a variety of fun activities. This free day will have the opportunity for people to enjoy camp activities like archery, zip lining, rock wall, high ropes, hiking, and more.

Carnival and Open House: May 4, 2025

Bring out the whole family for crafts, games, hayrides, and more. This is a great opportunity to introduce friends who have never been to Camp Mack to this special place. More details coming soon!

Centennial Celebration: August 10, 2025

Join for a once in a lifetime celebration! The day will begin mid afternoon with walking tours and group reunions. For dinner, Camp staff will serve a classic canoe meal. In the evening, all corners of the Camp Mack community will be invited to a service of celebration, remembrance, and rededication of Camp Mack. The day concludes with a community campfire with popcorn.

Family Day: September 2025

Bring the family out for a free day of enjoying Camp Mack. More details coming soon.

Camp Mack Festival: October 4, 2025

Come and enjoy Camp Mack in the fall. The day is full of delicious food cooked by local churches and activities for the whole family.

Senior Camper Day: October 7, 2025

Camp Mack is not just for kids! Older Adults are welcome to come out to enjoy the beauty of Camp Mack. Go for a walk along the lake, reminisce on the rocking chairs at John Kline, and more. Be on the look out for details in summer of 2025.

Annual Dinner: November 1, 2025

Kick off Camp Mack’s 101st year! The evening will feature delicious food from the Camp Mack kitchen staff and a look towards the future of Camp Mack!
