The Indiana Camp Board celebrates Gene Hollenberg’s announcement that he will retire from the role of Executive Director, effective December 31, 2026 .

During his tenure, Gene has provided steady leadership and made lasting contributions to the ministry of Camp Mack. His notable accomplishments include navigating through the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the successful completion of a capital campaign, the renovation of Ulrich lodge, and successfully pursuing multiple grants. These achievements have strengthened Camp Mack and positioned it well for the future.

The Indiana Camp Board is grateful for Gene’s dedication and service, and we wish him the very best in retirement.

Looking ahead, the Indiana Camp Board is preparing to hire a consultant to facilitate a thoughtful evaluation of the gifts and abilities needed for our next Executive Director. Alongside staff leadership, we are committed to ensuring a smooth transition that will build upon the strong foundation Gene leaves behind. We are excited to enter into this new phase at Camp Mack as it continues to provide a sanctuary where all people are welcomed to connect with God, experience creation, and build Christian community.

We will share additional updates as the transition process moves forward. Thank you for your continued support of Camp Alexander Mack as we gratefully anticipate the next 100 years of ministry.

In Christ,
Travis Hartman
Indiana Camp Board Chair
