Service Opportunities
Work Camps/Groups:We offer several work camps in the spring. We also are glad
to have churches, Sunday School classes, youth groups, and other groups schedule
a time to come work on the variety of projects that are on going. Meals and
lodging will be provided for workers. You may register for the spring work camps
in the Adult and Family Programs. You may call us to set up other work groups
at Contact Us.
Work Days:Call ahead so that we may plan to have work for you. Schedule a
day at a time or several days. Meals and lodging are provided for workers. We
have a variety of work that we would love for you to help us with.
Projects in process: Camp Mack is working at numerous projects as we remodel,
build new, improve, and do general maintenance and landscaping. Let us know the type of work you enjoy

Counselor Positions:
The summer children's camping program utilizes volunteer counselors. We are
looking for persons who want to show the Love of God to children. Most of our
counselors volunteer for a week at a time. We need persons age 18 and older
for grades 1-6. We use persons age 21 and over for grades 7-9. Please Contact

Camps.
Volunteer Positions:Camp Mack has utilized full-time volunteers for many years
to help us carry on the ministry. We need persons in positions such as Food
Service, Facility, Housekeeping, and Grounds. Please Contact Us if you are

Food Service Assistant
Part Time Food Service Assistant
Camp Mack is seeking a Food Service Assistant – We are seeking an individual with prior experience in volume cooking and baking, as well as prior supervisory experience.
The qualified candidate must be able to:
- 1. Demonstrate current knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation. Current certification with the State of Indiana would be beneficial.
- 2. Demonstrate safe and efficient use of food service equipment.
- 3. Supervise others and follow directions of manager without direct supervision.
- 4. Work well with others.
- 5. Provide a hospitable experience to guests and campers.
- 6. Work flexible schedules including evenings and weekends.
- 7. Lift up to fifty pounds.
- Ministry/Not for Profit Organizational experience is a plus.
Responsibilities – The primary responsibilities of the Food Service Assistant are to:
- Participate as directed in maintaining a clean, well organized kitchen and food storage room including food ordering, stock rotation, inventories, and record keeping.
- Supervise the preparation of quality of food according to schedules and menus with personnel who assist as directed by the Food Service Manager.
- Supervise the serving of food in an attractive and appealing manner and clean-up including proper storage of food and sanitation.
- Supervise Food Service staff as directed by the Food Service Manger.
- Serve as lead supervisor in opening or closing the kitchen when requested by the Food Service Manger.
- Participate in the processes of kitchen clean-up and dish room operation.
- Participate in professional growth events yearly.
Interview Questions:
- 1. How many cups in a quart? How many quarts in a gallon?
- 2. What is the difference between a convection and conventional oven? What is the temperature difference?
- 3. What is potentiallly hazardous food?
- 4. What is the proper holding temperature of hot food?
- 5. What is the "danger zone" in food preparation and holding?
- 6. Define "servant leadership"; give an example from your own experience.
- 7. Define "hospitality"; give an example from your own experience.
- 8. What has been your greatest work related accomplishment? Your greatest disappointment?
